Return to 2010 Snow Menu:

Just when we thought that our snow had cleared and Whitstable was heading towards springtime, we had yet another fall in early February 2010. Derek Weatherall slipped out to capture these scenes around central Whitstable.

We start with the icy wastelands surrounding one of the town's most famous landmarks....

The Neptune Public House and Vigilant Beach

Nearby Island Wall looked a picture....

.... and narrow Sea Wall remained largely untouched by vehicles....

Quite unusually, the High Street took some time to clear......

St Alphege Church, High Street

However, as one might expect, the bleakest scenes could be found at West Cliff - overlooking Seasalter Golf Course.....

It was hard work getting around the town centre itself and many of the main routes into it all were also tricky as Derek's final shot shows.....

On behalf of all our readers, I would like to thank Derek for taking the time to wade through the white stuff in sub-zero temperatures in order to enhance our snow sequences.
