Here we see the full extent of the freeze.. with the entire sea rendered motionless by the arctic temperatures. waves appear to have frozen as they made ready to break on the beach.

The building on the right is, of course, the "White House". Unlike the one in Washington, this one comprised public toilets on the ground floor with a rain shelter above.

As you can see from the modern day photo below, the building remains but part of the upper floor has been closed off to serve as a workshop.
