The Greta 

  

One example of a beautifully restored barge can be seen at Whitstable harbour. It is, of course Steve Norris's Greta and, thanks to Peter Dalrymple, the Simply Whitstable web site contains numerous shots of the vessel and its modern day exploits....

   

The beautifully restored Thames Barge "Greta" is a familiar sight at Whitstable - along with her owner, Steve Norris, and mate.... Alfie!

The Wyvenhoe

  

Although not know to have working connections with Whitstable, the restored Wyvenhoe was a welcome visitor to Whitstable harbour a few years ago. She is based at the head of the River Blackwater at Maldon in Essex and is available for sailing trips and party or corporate events.

The Xylonite

  

Xylonite was a steel barge that traded regularly at Whitstable harbour in the mid-twentieth century. She is now owned by the Cirdan Trust and used for sail training out of Maldon. The Cirdan & Faramir Sailing Trust web site is located at:
