Trips Near and Far...

 

School trips were an integral part of school life at the Sir William Nottidge School and this section provides space for ex-pupils to resurrect photos and mementoes of their travels.

 

Europe in 1960....

    

Many trips involved educational forays around Kent. However, some stretched across the channel to mainland Europe and provided some rather unusual mementoes 40 years on. Cliff Cuttelle picks up the story.....     

    

SWNS Abroad

 

One thing the school did well (apart from Gipsy Tart) was the overseas trip. Mr Nichols, the geography master, was not only a great teacher but he did most of these trips. 

The photo below (dated 14th April 1960) shows all the SWN crowd in the Rudesheim area. The picture includes the driver and nurse.

 

 

The next photo is of the Senior Maths teacher, Mr Gould, with Rosemary Chambers looking in on the left hand side.
